Description

This years tour, which has been organized by the RBG Special Garden Tour committee, will visit some of the beautiful gardens of the Grimsby area including the Painted Ladies of Grimsby.

  • 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m,
  • Meet at RBG Centre (680 Plains Rd. W. Burlington)
  • Lunch included (4 options)

The highlights include:

  • a well-established 50-year-old garden of a longtime RBG volunteer, Lil Howarth. Lil’s garden features an array of unique trees, shrubs and many perennials, some sourced from RBG
  • a farm/homestead whose owners wanted to reconnect with the land and now grow 70% of their food
  • a group of gardens adjoining each other including one from an artist perspective, with rare and unusual plants, one featuring a waterfall and pond, and a naturalistic garden with a 120-year-old conservatory
  • a one-acre young garden whose owners are in their 2nd summer of transforming their surroundings. This garden also has a small shop with vintage and antique items for sale. And across the road is an organic farm where produce, honey and other treats can be purchased.

Our lunch venue this year is the Watering Can Flower Market a fascinating place filled with many unique plants and planting ideas. The ticket price includes lunch here.

Important Information:

  • RBG will be open prior to our departure should anyone wish to use the washrooms; (Spicer Court door programmed to open)
